Josif Collazo

Josif Collazo is a trombonist from Bensalem. He is currently 18 years old and is attending Oberlin College and Conservatory in the fall. He began playing trombone in 4th grade and was accepted into the PMAY Artists’ Initiative in 2019, which led to him auditioning for and being accepted into Bravo Brass and the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.

Josif has studied with Brian Brown from the Settlement School of Music, Jarred Antonacci from Temple and has received a few lessons from Matt Vaughn of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is now studying under John Gruber at Oberlin for trombone performance.

Besides playing trombone, Josif enjoys drawing and painting, playing video games, reading dystopian sci fi novels and meditation
